WHAT HAS HOMŒOPATHY TO OFFER THE YOUNG MAN?

WHAT has homœopathy to offer the young man as a future? This question comes to us repeatedly and in our changing economic conditions it is a pertinent question.
Perhaps we can get at the problem best by asking the young man the counter-question: "What do you want to get out of life?" Only his honest reply to the question can throw any light upon his adaptability to homœopathy and only upon an honest consideration of his adaptability can we prophesy what homœopathy has to offer him. Why is he thinking of studying medicine?
Is he lazy and does he consider a profession an easy way to earn a living? Does he look upon medicine as a profession to be sought because of its honorable place in the community or as a position to be desired to secure a standing in society? Has he an ambition to be hailed as a great surgeon or bacteriologist? Is he thinking first of the possible financial returns?
If he would use his foothold as a physician for a life of ease, for a position in the community or in society, or for a means of obtaining fame or wealth, homœopathy offers him little that he would care to accept.
How does he react to the fads of the day, the bulletins of the laboratories, the specious advertising of pharmaceutical houses, the glib talk of salesmen? Does he believe that colloids are, after all, homœopathic potentiations? Or is he convinced that colloidal preparations are but recent and crude imitations of homœopathic potentiation which are inferior and far more uncertain in their effects than the proven homœopathic remedy?
If he replies to your question of his idea of the direction of his future so that it leads you to think that he looks upon sick humanity as suffering men and women, that he has a burning desire to serve them, to help them to better health and therefore greater usefulness and happiness, then you may be sure there is a sound foundation upon which we may build a plan of life in which homœopathy will offer him great reward. We can proceed further with our probing of his character and abilities, and determine what homœopathy has to offer him by finding out what he has to offer homœopathy.
One of the first essentials, now that we are convinced of his unselfish desire to serve, is to determine whether he has stability. If he is mercurial in temperament, easily influenced, and finds it difficult to hold a straight course, always seeking the easiest way, do not encourage him to study homœopathy.
Homœopathy is founded upon principles that are in turn founded upon natural laws. If homœopathy is founded upon natural law, it is as basic and eternal as the hills; more, natural laws were formulated before the hills came into being. If a man follows where homœopathy leads, he must be able to follow those laws and to hold close to them regardless of the pressure of influence.
Stability of character must have with it, and in equal measure, the quality of patience. In ordinary medicine the quality of patience seemingly is not so necessary, since we too frequently find that in extreme cases where things have taken an undesirable course the physician conforms himself that "everything possible has been done for the patient." In homœopathy, one of our greatest axioms is: WHEN IN DOUBT, DON'T. The homœopathic physician must be able to plan his course, and once having determined upon it, to stick to it until he finds good reason for changing his course; he must be able to wait.
The man who considers homœopathy as a possible future must be a student of people and willing to become a student of philosophy. He must be able to read between the true and the false in any symptoms the patient may give; he must possess a sense of values. He must train himself to observe all those signs which the vital energy writes upon the human face, and he must be able to interpret all the signs, which show through habits and circumstances, into indications for the health-restoring medicines which he has at his command. Hours must be spent in patient study, tracing the course of the disturbance and the remedy to fit it, always basing the process upon the sound rock of natural law.
To the young man who is equipped, and willing to undergo the training for this lifelong task, homœopathy has everything to offer.
In the first place, homœopathy offers to the independent mind an opportunity continually to seek new verifications of the natural laws upon which this system of medicine is based. It opens up vast fields to the pioneer, and we cannot gauge the distance that eager minds may travel, nor how greatly the interpretations of these laws may influence the civilization of the future.
Homœopathy offers a life of service to humanity, and it is the only method of healing that surely sets the sick man and sick woman on the permanent road to recovery. We must remember that though we may fail, the failure is ours; it is not the failure of homœopathy. The better knowledge we have of the "tool of our trade" the better use we should make of them.
Homœopathy treats the sick individual; it is therefore a speciality. In spite of the trend toward group practice, group thinking and even group mode of life as seen all about us today, we have yet to be convinced that the man is not greater than the mass and that as long as intelligent thinking people realize and prize their individuality, the individual approach will hold an appeal to them. Therefore, homœopathy offers a special inducement to the man who can teach people to think and act as individuals, and to demand medical treatment as individuals.
Homœopathy considers the man as a whole, not just his individual parts. Therefore, primarily homœopathy has less appeal for the man of mechanical bent, for it is this man who makes the best surgeon. Instead, homœopathy offers a gentler way toward health of the entire individual.
One thing the student must consider is the differentiation between medicine and public health service. Public health service, ideally, has to do with the prevention of disease in the community, in guarding food and water supplies, in providing facilities and restrictions for adequate healthy housing conditions and in attending to the proper disposal of waste matter, so that the health of the community will be guarded against epidemics borne by impure water, milk or other food supplies, or born in insanitary or unhygienic conditions.
Medicine ideally has to do with the cure of disease, the building up of the individual, not overlooking the proper hygiene and sanitation, but with a deeper view of the needs of the individual himself, rather than the needs of the community.
Homœopathic medicine goes even further than this, for homœopathy seeks to relieve the individual as much as possible from the heavy burden of the hereditary tendencies he carries, and to guard against increasing this load by enabling his vital energy to provide its own immunity against disease. Homœopathy looks upon the health of the individual as a precious charge, and the return of the individual to health as almost certain if we but follow the fundamental laws.
Another growing distinction between public health service, so called, and medicine, especially homœopathic medicine, is the increasing use of serums and vaccines. It has been claimed that these preparations are really homœopathic; even instructors in the homœopathic colleges have thought thus to demonstrate homœopathic principles. Let the young man consider this logically.
In the first place, giving the identical instead of the similar means the difference between isopathy and homœopathy. You may say that the identical, in the case of the serum or vaccine, is potentiated, somewhat as in homœopathy, and therefore removes it from the identical sphere. Although potentiated, it does not alter the fact that it was not in the first place similar, but identical. In the second place, it has been potentiated in mass production, and potentiated and filtered, not through an inert substance, but through living creatures, and a lower order of creatures at that.
There is a biological law that crossing the blood of higher and lower order of creatures means destruction to the species, and it is well to consider this. Practically, we may well look to the nature of growth in different orders of creatures. When an animal has a longevity of some twenty years and in that time attains a weight of half a ton, there must be a rapid cell growth. When serum from such a source, though ever so highly filtered, is injected into the human race, where normal longevity is seventy years and where 160 pounds might be considered an average weight, one can well understand the impact upon the vital energy of the human; for while the serum is considered by ordinary medicine to be potentiated past all danger, homœopathy believes that potentiated in any or all forms means a more prompt release of power than may have been possible in the normal state, it then being latent.
One of the outstanding problems today is cancer. It intrigues the mind of the young man, and his search for the cause and cure of cancer is indefatigable. This is a challenge to the homœopathic physician as well, since he has remedial aids that ordinary practice knows not; but let the young man consider this problem in the light of public health service and its insistence on the use of serums and vaccines. Let him weigh his ability to stand upon his adherence to fundamental principles. If he takes up the task on the frontier of cancer study, will he remember the relationship between homœopathy (not isopathy) and disease conditions, or will he forget that human cell tissue is easily stimulated to over growth, under certain hereditary tendencies? He has here a field for work which offers much elbow room and all the dangers of the pioneer.
The homœopathic school accentuates the study of the action of drugs upon healthy human beings, with little consideration of their action on the lower animals, for homœopathy recognizes that it is only through a knowledge of their action on man that we can obtain a correct perception of their applicability in disease. The field here is ripe for much investigation, and the results of such investigation would enrich the homœopathic materia medica by completing provings of some of the older remedies, and by bringing out provings of new remedies. This is an opportunity that only homœopathy offers, for the teaching of remedy reaction has ceased in ordinary medical colleges.
The decision lies with the individual, and what he is determined to secure from his life work. If it is financial ambition, he had better not take up homœopathy. Homœopathy is a principle, and principles brook no division of loyalty. If he has at heart the desire to serve, he may find fame and riches at his door as well as that keen satisfaction of knowing that he has brought to his clientele the gift of healing in the safest, gentlest and most rapid manner.
For the man who can help the community, as individuals, toward a higher level of health, the community has a place of honor; for the man who can assist Nature to cure serious illness a certain fame in the community there is burning, perhaps not the bright flame of the comet, but a steady glow of light for his path. For the man who spends himself unceasingly for those about him the community will return a comfortable livelihood, not the spectacular fortune offered in some lines of endeavor, but a competence which will enable him to keep his family in a well earned place in the community.
Homœopathy as a profession carried a challenge. The possibilities of its art are infinite.
What future has homœopathy to offer to you? Young man, what have you to offer homœopathy?WHAT has homœopathy to offer the young man as a future? This question comes to us repeatedly and in our changing economic conditions it is a pertinent question.

THE THREE CONSTITUTIONS OF GRAUVOGL

THE THREE CONSTITUTIONS OF GRAUVOGL.
We are now in a position to approach definitely Grauvogl's own arrangement f the morbid constitutions according to excess or deficiency of certain elements in the tissues and blood. For every organ and every tissue breathes, and if the lungs are the gate-way and the blood the carrier it is the tissues which are the ultimate recipients of the oxygen that is in breathed.
1. The Hydrogenoid Constitution is characterised by an excess of Hydrogen and consequently of water in the blood and tissues.
2. The Oxygenoid is characterised by an excess of Oxygen, or, at lest, by an exaggerated influence of Oxygen on the organism.
3. The Carbo-nitrogenoid Constitution is characterised by an excess of Carbon and Nitrogen.
The Hydrogenoid Constitution corresponds closely with Hahnemann's Sycosis but it covers a much wider area and, is not by any means confined to the acquired or inherited results of gonorrhœal infection. Intermittent-fevers and periodicity come within its sphere.
At the present time Vaccinosis, or the constitutional sufferings from cow-pox infection, should certainly be included under this heading. The antidotal relation to it of Thuja, which is one of Grauvogl's principal remedies for Hydrogenoids is a clear indication that this is so. Moreover, Burnett told me that he regarded Gout as belonging to the Sycotic diseases.
The Oxygenoid Constitution is Hahnemann's Syphilis but we have no examples of its treatment as we have of the other two.
The Carbo-nitrogenoid Constitution is Hahnemann's Psora.
I will now let Grauvogl describe them in detail and give examples of their treatment - at least of the first and third.
The Hydrogenoid is the one most fully elaborated and illustrated by a great wealth of clinical cases. It is also illustrated by cases from other writers, making altogether as fascinating a clinical record as it has ever been my lot to peruse. Parts of it had been already familiar to me but I may here confess that this is the first time I have ever had an opportunity of putting the experiences in their proper setting. I trust it may prove a worthy one and as helpful to others as it has been to myself.

CONSTITUTIONAL MEDICINE

CONSTITUTIONAL MEDICINEWith especial reference toThe Three Constitutions of Dr Von Grauvogl.by John H. ClarkePresented by Médi-T.
CHAPTER I. - INTRODUCTORY.
The following extracts from von Grauvogl's Preface to his Text-book, dated "Nuremberg, 1865", will give a clear idea of his aim and object in making that compilation :
Since Homœopathy is nothing but a system of Therapeutics resting on the foundations of all the natural sciences - Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, etc. - a confirmation of the Organon and the proof of its conformity with natural science may be required often and at various times. And if the practice of life has a word to say, then it is the duty of every practical physician to make public the knowledge and experience which he has acquired, no matter whether at the present moment these should be regarded favourably or unfavourably ; for frequently their real value is finally settled by the future only.
A text-book, however, must present examples ; its principles must be demonstrated and set forth by cases and comparisons taken from life. Then everyone can accurately apply what he has learned to his patient and at the same time confirm it by the test of success...
I resign all pretence to any party stand-point, since there should be no party in science, consequently none in therapeutics…
Aside from its contents as indicated by its title, this work has also the intention to respond to the necessary though not easy demands of a medical logic elucidated by practical examples ; for "opinions" - and these, unfortunately, mean nothing but faith in "authorities" - separate physicians into hostile camps and paralyse medical activity which, were it united, would always be attended by the happiest results ; these, however, are not attainable under present lamentable circumstances.
The cause of this state of things clearly cannot be in the subjects themselves about which medical factions contend, since these subjects stand to each other in the natural relation of cause and effect, but is brought about by arbitrary "conceptions" thereof. Hence the necessity is abundantly apparent of intertwining the instruments of logic with the contents of a therapeutic text-book.
Those who wish to follow the brilliant logic of Grauvogl's treatise must be referred to the Text-book itself. One of my aims will be to "dis-intertwine" the practical conclusions from the "instruments of logic" and let the facts speak for themselves. All I will say here is that readers can trust implicitly to Grauvogl's honesty as well as his logic. I will only add this pregnant passage from Part II, page 104 of the Text-book. Grauvogl had been citing instances where the teachings of the "physiological school, commonly called Allopathy", were both useful and necessary :
Thus then we must sometimes offer the diseased human organism palliative aid according to the causal law, but as a rule, or course, medical help according to the law of reciprocal action [Homœopathy] If homœopathy should seek to treat all cases and every case simply and solely according to the law of similarity, it would fall into the same error as Allopathy. Hence these sciences are no contrasts in the sense of opposition but rather complements of each other.
This is an extremely important observation and it is purely from the want of the recognition of this truth that there was ever any opposition to Hahnemann and his teaching. Homœopathy was simply an addition to the knowledge of medical truth and should have been accepted at that If it was incidentally the means of exploding many cherished medical "opinions" not founded on facts, then the "opinions" ought to have been allowed to pass into the limbo into which all such will eventually have to go ; Instead of this we know what happened and what is happening now.
Against this devotion to mere "opinions" Grauvogl raised his voice. He also has some pertinent remarks as to what is a "Smile." He says : "The substance of the law of similarity consists in this, that it indicates a correspondence in form which must be present for the purpose of a cure between" the form of the reaction against some morbid matter and the form of the reaction against some drug manifested in a proving. The law of similarity refers only to the indication, and the effect which follows is naturally not a similar but its direct contrary. Thus the strife of the Contrarium with the Simile is a strife about nothing - a strife about mere ideas of relation. The investigation of facts with a criticism based on natural laws has in all these controversies been consistently neglected."
Grauvogl was as true a Homœopath as ever lived, but he never mistook Homœopathy for being something which it is not, or ever worshipped the dogma as a kind of theological fetish. He was a truth-seeker always, and was able to find it everywhere - even in his own errors. "Errors are (or contain) often the germ of truth where the mind without a teacher is obliged to teach itself." Lest any should think there was any weakness in his apprehension of Homœopathic truth I will quote a passage from Part I, p. 390 :
"The doctrine of high potencies is the most glorious acquisition of Homœopathy. It developed its greatness and might in an intellect which has lit up the path of natural science for more than half a century, without, however, having been comprehended. And what are the discoveries of the spectrum analysis compared to the discovery of Hahnemann's high potencies ?

Homeopathy for Children

Homeopathy is the natural way to ensure a child’s health. It is a holistic treatment that provides an alternative way to treat common illnesses without the need for costly allopathic antibiotics and pain relieving medicine. Homeopathic remedies are safe, natural, fast acting and effective. There are many proponents for and against homeopathy but this website does not focus on the debate. It provides cures for common childhood problems and is based on personal experience and tried and tested remedies. The website does not necessarily abide by the classical view but focuses on effective cures and remedies. It is an over the counter approach and all information provided may be used at the sole risk of the practitioner without any liability accepted by the website. Information and remedies are provided in good faith and any parent is free to try them. All natural common sense precautions should be taken while treating any problem. In case of any emergency or persistent problem, a trained doctor should naturally be consulted. This website is not a substitute for a doctor and only provides over the counter treatment and advice.
Homeopathy has a good track record at treating first aid cases and certain acute diseases. These two kinds of complaints can be treated by homeopathy with a little guidance. The parent can symptomatically provide the remedies to the child for immediate relief. Chronic cases where the disease persists for a long time, recurs and gets worse over time are better treated by a trained homeopath where long term treatment over a few months may be required.
This link provides information on the basic principles of classical homeopathy.
Homeopathy works on the basis of Symptoms. The parent needs to study the symptoms being exhibited by the child; physical and mental/ psychological and then pick the remedy. The homeopathic remedy works almost immediately if the correct symptom is selected. Normally improvement can be seen after a few doses. If there is no relief within 12- 24 hours, the parent may need to change the remedy or consult a professional doctor. There may be different remedies suggested depending upon different symptoms. It is important to match the symptoms to the remedy to have an effective cure.
Homeopathic Remedies

Diarrhoea
This is a common problem with children. Normally the only recourse is antibiotics, which leave a child week and nauseated. Homeopathy provides many effective and safe cures for this problem. However there are many medicines and remedies that may be given depending upon the predominant symptom being exhibited. If the parent and/or homeopathic practitioner are able to ‘get’ the correct symptom, cure is almost instantaneous within a couple of hours at the most. The trick is to observe the child carefully.
Symptoms:-Diarrhea caused by an inability to digest milk.-During teething.
Recommended Remedy:
Aethusa 30C given every half and hour for a couple of hours ( four doses) and then once every four hours for 2- 3 days will normally help.
If the child is unable to control the passing of stools, the following remedy is very effective.
Symptoms:
-Diarrhoea with lots of wind.
-Inability to control the passing of stool. The child dirties his undergarments.
-Insecurity of the rectum.
Recommended Remedy:
Give one dose of Nux Vomica 200C and the start with the below mentioned remedy. Repeat one dose of Nux Vomica 200C every day in the morning during the course of the treatment.
Aloe 30C given 4-6 times with a gap of 15 minutes will normally give immediate relief. This medicine may be continued for 3 days, given 3-4 times a day till the problem sorts itself out completely.
If Diarrhoea is observed after ingesting bad food the following will help.
Symptoms:
-After bad food.
-Vomiting and Diarrhoea together.
-Weakness, Chill, thirst.
Recommended Remedy:
Arsenic Album 30C given every half an hour for 4-6 doses will provide relief. However it is important to continue this remedy for at least 3 days every 3- 4 hours to get rid of any infection in the stomach. This remedy may be combined with Podophylum 30C especially if the stools are accompanied with lot of profuse shooting Diarrhea and if there are cramps. In this case alternate Arsenic Album with Podophylum.
Another remedy is Veratrum Album 30C which may be tried if above does not work in severe cases of bad food disorder.
Symptoms:-Diarrhoea with stomach pains (colic)-Offensive green slimy stools.-Rotten smelling stools-Nausea
Recommended Remedy:Give one dose of Ipecacuanha 200C and the start with the below mentioned remedy. Give one dose of Ipecacuanha 200C every day in the morning during the course of the treatment.
Chamomilla 30C given every half an hour for 4-6 doses is normally effective. Continue the remedy for 3 days reducing the dosage to 3-4 times a day.
If there is Diarrhoea without any other discernable symptom the following will work.
Symptoms:-Watery painless diarrhea
Recommended Remedy:
China 30C given every half an hour for 3-6 times will normally stop the motions. Continue for 3 more days reducing dosage to 3 times a day after the first day.
Symptoms:-Acidity in stomach- Little appetite-Diarrhea with no other symptoms-Offensive smell-Cramps
Recommended Remedy:
Give one dose of Sulphur 200C first thing before any other medicine and then start the below mentioned treatment. Continue with one dose of Sulphur 200C every day during the 3 days of the treatment.
Rheum 30C and Cuprum 30C given alternatively every one hour will normally help. Continue the treatment for 3 days reducing the dosage to 4 times a day after the first day.
Tip: Confused? Check carefully the symptoms before giving remedy. If one remedy combination is not working after 3 – 4 doses, shift to another combination. Relief must be experienced after 3 doses. If there is no change in the child’s position even after the above remedies, rush the child to a hospital for professional treatment. It is also important to keep the child hydrated during Diarrhea to prevent fluid loss.
Colic
This is severe abdominal pain with varying intensity. It is common in babies and small infants causing many sleepless nights. There are easy cures in homeopathy if the symptoms are correctly identified.
Symptoms:-Colic accompanying teething and diarrhea with green stools.

Relief should be felt within 4 doses. Try alternative medicines if no relief is experienced within 2 hours.
Throat Complaints and inflamed Tonsils
Homeopathy has excellent remedies for throat problems and children usually respond very well to this treatment. Select the remedy carefully before applying same. Some of the common effective remedies are given below. Incase none help; you will need the help of a trained Homeopath.
Symptoms:-Beginning of throat problem-Complaint comes on suddenly (with fever)-Pale face, red/pink cheeks
Recommended Remedy:When the problem just starts and suddenly comes on very strongly, it is recommended that the child be given Belladonna 30C and Aconite 30C alternatively, every half an hour for at least 2- 3 hours. This treatment may be preceded with one dose of Ferrum Phosphoricum 200C. If you see the remedy as helpful, continue for 2- 3 days with one dose of Ferrum Phos 200C given first thing in the morning.

If the problem is already well established then check symptoms carefully before treatment.
Symptoms:-Swollen tonsils with stinging pain-Hard swollen glands.-Pain extending to ear
Recommended Remedy:Give one dose of Hepar Sulphuris 200C and then start alternating Apis Mellifica 30C and Baryta Muriaticum 30C every 15 minutes for 3 hours. Reduce dosage as relief is felt. Continue for at least 3- 4 days but remember to give Hepar Sulphuris 200C once a day.
This should normally be enough to control most infected tonsils.
An alternative remedy for a different set of symptoms is given below.
Symptoms:-Child is sensitive to both heat and cold. Alternatively feeling hot and cold.-Excessive salivation and dribbling.-Offensive stinking breath, pus formation.-Red tonsils
Recommended Remedy:Alternate Mercurius Vivus 30C with Belladonna 30C every 15 minutes for 3 hours. Continue treatment after reducing frequency till relief is felt. Please note if Salivation is on right side change Mercurius Vivus to Mercurius Iodatus Flavus 30C and if the salivation is primarily on the left side of the mouth, change to Mercurius Iodatus Ruber 30C.
Tip:Try alternating Mercurius Vivus 30C and Aconite 30C when you detect the problem in the throat. If this does not work after 4 doses of fifteen minutes each, switch to detailed symptoms.
Constipation

Symptoms:-Unable to completely clear the stools. A feeling of urging and as if some more is left.-Frequent small amounts of stool are passed.-No sense of urgency and stools resembling hard round black balls.
Recommended Remedy:Nux Vomica 30C will normally provide relief within a day. Give every 2 hours for a couple of days. If the child is passing hard round stools add Opium 30C, given alternatively to the treatment.
Tip:First try only Nux Vom 30C every 2 hours for a day. This normally solves the problem. Seek professional help for any long-term problems.
Vomiting
Vomiting can be caused by many factors including contaminated foods, worms, earaches etc. Some common symptoms and remedies are given below:

Symptom:-Infant brings up breast milk.
Recommended Remedy:Alternate Aethusa 30C with Silicea 30C every half and hour for two hours and then every hour for the next two days.
Tip: Normally vomiting will be accompanied with Diarrhoea so the section of the website dealing with this problem is relevant. Remedies that will work well are a combination of Nux Vom, Ipecacuanha and Bryonia all in 30C depending upon specific symptoms.
Fever
Normal healthy temperature of a human body is 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 Degrees F). When taken rectally it is 1 Degree F higher and the measurement taken in the armpit is normally 1 Degree F (0.5 Degree Celsius) lower. In Homeopathy, fever is not necessarily a cause of alarm. Fever is a natural way for the body to fight disease. A slightly higher body temperature may actually be good, as the body fights the infection.
You may note fever is an indication of some kind of a problem with the body. Incase other symptoms are present, consult the other sections of the website to find the appropriate remedy for that specific condition. The fever control remedies are given below.
Symptoms:-Emergency; sudden rapid onset of high fever.-Rapid pulse, anxious fearful child.-Bright Red, flushed face, with dilated pupils and red eyes.-Throbbing headache.
Recommended Remedy: Aconite and Belladonna are both indicted in this condition where there is a sudden attack of high fever. Alternate 30C potency every 15 minutes till you notices an improvement, typically within a couple of hours. Improvement may be seen in terms of better child behavior before the fever starts to come under control. Decrease frequency of medication as fever comes under control.
Symptom:-No particular symptom. Pale face
Recommended Remedy:Ferrum Phosphoricum 12C every half an hour will normally help in case of a simple fever.
Symptom:-Gradual onset of fever.-Fever comes on in humid weather and cold weather.-Great thirst-Constipation.
Recommended Remedy: Bryonia 30C is recommended. Give potency 30C every one hour till the symptoms diminish. Reduce dosage as the fever comes under control.
Tip:If nothing seems to work, give one dose of Sulphur 200C and then alternate Rhus Tox 30C and Pulsatilla 30C every 15 minutes till you find relief. If there are symptoms of Flu along with fever, check out the flu section of the website. There are a few homeopathic mixtures available in the market which works well in some cases of fever. They may also be tried.

Tooth Decay
Some young children show signs of tooth decay and retracting gums at a very young age. This tooth decay in milk teeth is especially painful because it is very difficult to treat. Young children find it difficult to handle the dentists’ chair and the drilling and filling involved which is a painful process. Find some tips on how to handle a visit to a dentist here.

Symptoms:
-Teeth Decay next to gums
-Retracting gums
-Toothache
-Sensitive Teeth
-Decay in teeth
Recommended Remedy:
Give one dose of Thuja Occidentalis 200C in the morning for ten days. Rinse mouth, especially affected teeth with a strong mixture of Plantago Major mother tincher thrice a day and then drink the mixture. Prepare the mixture by mixing 10-12 drops of the mother tincher in four to five teaspoons of clean mineral water just before application. This local application should be continued for at least 30 days before you find that tooth decay has stopped and the visit to the dentist is delayed.
After the above treatment, give Kresote 30C three times a day for 7 days. This remedy helps in reducing tooth decay in new teeth. Repeat after a month or two.
Tip:
This problem normally indicated poor calcium intake or absorption by the child. You may want to pick up a mixture of Ferrum Phos and Calcarea Phos in 3X or 6X from a homeopathy shop and give the child three to four small tablets at least twice

Typhoid can be cured by homeopathy in fiew days

If there is any one disease which more than another cannot be prescribed for by name, it is typhoid. No disease is more varied in its symptoms during its inception, invasion, and course, and none more liable to spend its force in different localities in the subject.
Ø In one case the cerebral and nervous symptoms will greatly predominate so as to take the form of typhus cerebralis ;
Ø in another, in the abdomen (Typhus abdominalis),
Ø in still others, in the lungs and bronchi (Typhus pneumalis or Pneumo-typhus).
Not only this, but during the course of any single case the form may change so as to assume these different manifestations. So in writing of the therapeutics of typhus we cannot arbitrarily divide the remedies into classes, but give the indications for their use in one or all forms according to symptomatic indications.
Nevertheless there are certain remedies that are generally adapted to the first, second and third weeks, or stages, of the disease that it is well to recognize.
To simply give a list of symptomatic indications beginning with Aconite and ending with Zincum is liable to be very confusing .
CLINICAL CASES. From dr naish
Case. A boy 12 years of age (in a family in which one had already died of hæmorrhage of the bowels and another lay sick of the same disease in the abdominal form) was taken with typhoid fever and grew steadily worse until the third week, when the following symptoms were present :
Complete stupor ; entire unconsciousness ; pupils greatly dilated, with no reaction to light ; and hearing gone. All this interrupted by occasional piercing screams ; abdomen so sunken and empty that the vertebral column could be felt through its walls ; no stool for two weeks and for forty-eight hours at one time not a drop of urine. He would lie for a day or so in this stupor, then would involuntarily begin to jerk his head forward up from the pillow, and with a yell carry it around in a sort of semi-circle and drop it back again, continually trying to talk, which he could not do on account of the stiff or paralysed condition of the tongue ; then again would lapse into the stupor with screams. Apis mellifica alone did not control the whole condition, so I gave the Stramonium, when, with the jerking of the head, and loquacious delirium was on, and between the two remedies he began to improve the paroxysms becoming shorter and more mild, then ceasing entirely. The urine became abundant, and the boy began to notice his attendants. The first word he spoke ten days after he became conscious was "mam !" (Calling his mother), the next "pawidge" (porridge). His diet had been oat meal porridge all through the course.
Two other cases essentially the same, one a school teacher, the other the wife of the professor of mathematics in our State Normal School, were treated the same way and made perfect recoveries. The late lamented Dr. H. V. Miller, one of the best prescribers I ever knew, saw the last one in consultation with me and pronounced a decidedly unfavorable prognosis, but was surprised and delighted at the outcome. I have also prescribed it alone in cases which had the stupor with screaming without the alternate condition described above with equally good results. In almost all cases of the Apis kind look for an increase of urine before the other symptoms improve.
APIS AND SULPHUR.
One thing I wish to mention here, viz. that if in such a case Apis mellifica did not act promptly an intercurrent dose of Sulphur often seemed to help it. There must have been psora in such a case, and I know that the two remedies follow each other beautifully when indicated by the symptoms. Now, for fear that some one may accuse me of teaching alternation or rotation of remedies, as is the practice of too many in our school, let me say that the cases which call for even such alternation as was necessary here, are very rare, and you will distinctly remember that this was not the hourly or two hourly rotation practiced by such.
Such alternation and rotation is neither necessary nor scientific. No good prescriber will do it.
A CLINICAL CASE ILLUSTRATING THE USE OF HELLEBORUS NIGER.
Helleborus niger is another remedy which, though not often indicated in typhoid, is sometimes, and nothing can take its place. To illustrate its sphere I will give another case from practice.
This was another boy about twelve or fourteen years of age. After two weeks of a very severe run of the fever, the whole force of the disease seemed to concentrate in the brain. The loose stools stopped, and the urine, too, and he lay dead to all signs of consciousness ; the eyes remained wide open and still; shoving a bright lamp right up to them made no impression upon the widely dilated pupils. He looked idiotic, and the heart beat was weak and very slow, "only the brain seems to be the invaded part of the body."
Under the action of Helleborus niger 1000th (B. and T.) he began to pass more urine, until it became profuse, to move occasionally, and very slowly gain consciousness. The first sign that he gave of really comprehending anything was this. He was a boy that had always been particularly fond of money, especially silver money (free silver). While testing him with a lamp one evening to see if I could get his attention to anything, the father said ;
"Try him with a piece of money."
I then held a silver dollar in such a position that the lamp would reflect it strongly into his eyes, and for a second he fixed his sight upon it and laugh aloud - "Ha ! ha !".
We "ha ! ha !'d," too, but it was several days after that before he could see or know enough to indicate what he wanted, or that he wanted anything. He went on improving slowly until perfect recovery under the Helleborus. This illustrates the sphere of this remedy anywhere, either in acute meningitis or in typhus, where the affection centers in the head, and with these symptoms.

Mood disorders

Mood disorders, also known as affective disorders, mainly involve disturbances in the person's mood. The two chief mood disorders are major depression (extreme sadness) and mania (extreme happiness and overactivity). People with bipolar disorder, also called manic-depressive illness, suffer from alternating periods of depression and mania. Mood disorders are usually episodic-that is, the person experiences mood disturbances at relatively brief, distinct periods during the course of the illness. People with mood disorders typically return to normal levels of functioning after treatment.
Most people with depression feel sad, hopeless, and worthless. Many also suffer from insomnia and loss of appetite and have trouble concentrating. Some people with depression move and think slowly, but others feel restless. Some feel so hopeless and discouraged that they consider or attempt suicide. About 15 percent of people who seek treatment for depression commit suicide.
Most of these medicines have serious side effects, and all require the prescription of a doctor. For example, SSRI's can cause increased anxiety, poor sleep, nausea, and loss of sexual interest. TCA's can cause hypotension (low blood pressure), irregular heartbeat, and constipation. MAOI's may combine with certain foods or drugs to create life-threatening hypertension (high blood pressure).
HOMŒOPATHIC TREATMENT
In Homœopathic treatment there are excellent remedies which prove very effective without any side effects. I have cured a lot of patient Depression, Bipolar disorder, Mood disorders and many other mental diseases.

Bipolar disorder

Bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness in which a person alternates between periods of severe depression and periods of mania (extreme joy, overactivity, or irritability). The illness is also called manic-depressive illness or manic depression. Approximately 3 million people in the United States suffer from bipolar disorder. If treated inadequately, the illness can have tragic consequences, such as suicide.
In a period of depression, a person suffering from bipolar disorder may feel sad, anxious, irritable, hopeless, or unmotivated. Depressed patients may experience insomnia or excessive sleeping, decreased or increased appetite, weight loss or weight gain, slowing of thought and movement, and poor memory and concentration. Many think about wanting to die and have unrealistic feelings of guilt.
In a period of mania, a person may experience euphoria (indescribable happiness). The person may also be unusually irritable or may alternate between euphoria and irritability. Manic patients sometimes behave inappropriately. For example, they may laugh uncontrollably at funerals. Periods of mania also are characterized by increased energy, racing thoughts, increased rate of speech, decreased need for sleep, exaggerated sense of self-worth, and poor judgment.
Periods of depression and mania may follow one another at intervals of days, weeks, or months. Some patients experience mania and depression at the same time. They are among the most severely affected bipolar patients.
Scientists believe genetic factors cause many cases of bipolar disorder. About half of all patients first show signs of the illness in their teen-age years.
Treatment for the disorder includes drugs and psychotherapy. The most commonly prescribed medications by the allopathic doctors are lithium, carbamazepine, and valproate.

Depression and Homœopathy

Depression and Homœopathy

Depression is a serious mental disorder in which a person suffers long periods of sadness and other negative feelings. The term depression also describes a normal mood involving the sadness, grief, disappointment, or loneliness that everyone experiences at times.

Depressed people may feel fearful, guilty, or helpless. They often cry, and many lose interest in work and social life. Many cases of depression also involve aches, fatigue, loss of appetite, or other physical symptoms. Some depressed patients try to harm or kill themselves. Periods of depression may occur alone, or they may alternate with periods of mania (extreme joy and over activity) in a disorder called bipolar disorder. This condition is also known as manic-depressive disorder.

Psychiatrists do not fully understand the causes of depression, but they have several theories. Some psychiatrists believe that depression follows the loss of a relative, a friend, a job, or a valued goal. Many psychiatrists believe that experiences that occur during early childhood may make some people especially subject to depression later in life.

According to another theory, disturbances in the chemistry of the brain occur during depression. Brain cells communicate with one another by releasing chemicals called neurotransmitters. Some experts think that certain neurotransmitters become under active during depression and overactive during mania. Some women experience temporary depression in the weeks following childbirth. Experts believe that this condition, called postpartum depression, is caused by fluctuating levels of hormones and difficulty adjusting to the pressures of parenthood. In a few cases, postpartum depression can be severe.

History of Homeopathy

It is the outcome of the medical profession. “Hahnemann the great” who was well-known physician among his colleagues for his services to medicine, chemistry and pharmacology, had an astonishing talent for ancient and contemporary languages. He had all the medical wisdom of past times, after mature thought and at a mature age. He as the result of years difficult experiments, investigation and reflection succeeded to expose the profession for which he believes that he had discovered a therapeutic rule which will enable his followers to find the remedies for diseases with greater certainty and accuracy than can be achieved by any of the other methods hitherto taught.

Homoeopathy had its origin in Germany. Hahnemann’s active life was carried on in Germany, and his works were written in German or in Latin, which in his early days was the language often employed by medical and scientific authors.

Dr. Ameke has performed his self-imposed task and provided for the English readers an opportunity of seeing Homoeopathy. He highlighted the investigations of Hahnemann that led to his discovery of the therapeutic rule which he first expressed as the general principle of medical practice.

He clearly shows that Hahnemann was as far in advance of his chemical contemporaries in their special science, as he afterwards went beyond all his medical contemporaries in their special art. He also brings out the fact that Hahnemann, before his discovery of the homoeopathic rule, had acquired a great reputation for his improvements in the practice of medicine, in pharmacology, and especially in hygiene, a branch of medicine which he may almost be said to have created.
We see in this history the high esteem in which he was held by his contemporaries, and especially by the Nestor of German physic, Hufeland, who never lost his respect for Hahnemann's genius and services to medicine even when he differed from him in opinion.
Opportunities in hospitals.

Homoeopathic treatment facility is not available in hospitals all over the world. We think that the right way would be to afford this opportunities in hospitals to test its value side by side with traditional methods, to put discussion in societies and magazines, for making careful experiments with the remedies and the mode of their employment recommended by its members. It should be given the equal professional status according to the other traditional methods.
My share in the work is that I am doing my work just according to the homoeopathic rules introduced by its founder.

Why Homeopathy

The above question comes to our mind when we are trying to change from one change from one medical system to other. Every science has its positive aspects and its limitations too. Let's know what Homeopathy offers for the suffering humankind. It is based on the principle of “Similia similibus curenter” (i.e. like cures like). Homeopathy is a Holistic method of treatment where the whole body is taken into consideration & not just the diseased organ. As we already discussed in 1st paragraph, Homeopathy is a system of medicine where the remedies are prepared from the natural substances that are obtained from the Plant Kingdom, Mineral kingdom and Animal kingdom. Then the substances undergo a process of potentization and serial dilutions. The more the substance is diluted the more the power of that drug is increased. The power is known as the “Potency”. The homeopathic medicines do not have side effects when they are used prudently. They can even be used in treating mortally ill patients for the purpose of palliation without any side effects.

It helps the body to bring back the healthy state of its vital force from its diseased state. When the right homeopathic medicine is utilized it stimulates the body and produces an action, which is known as the primary action, and then the body reacts which is known as the secondary action. The Homeopathic medicines act at the level Psycho-neuro endocrinal axis. When children are put on homeopathy they lead a healthier life and even their inherited tendencies can be minimized. The homeopathic medicines can be used in a very simple way by putting drops on sweet globules .due to sweet taste of globules kids take the medicines without any protest. In chronic diseases after the remedy is used it acts at a very deep level and helps the individual to fight against the disease. We get remarkable results if the case is properly managed. In acute conditions after the medicine is utilized it restores the lost state of vital force in a rapid & gentle way. Homeopathic medicine can be very useful during epidemics. The remedy that is selected on the symptoms that are characteristic during the epidemic is known as the Genus Epidemics. In homeopathy prophylactic medicine can be given for preventing the disease when there is an outbreak of certain diseases. For e.g. If there are 2 children in a house and one is suffering from say Chicken pox in order to prevent the other child from getting the infection if prophylactic medicine is given he will not catch that disease. So Homeopathy can be used for a wide range of diseases with success if practiced in the right way. So let’s make a healthy pleasant living possible through Homeopathy.

What is homoeopathy

Homoeopathy is a modern way of treating the patients. It is very near to the nature. All the drugs used in this way of treatment are extracted from Plants, Minerals Animals & some parts of human body. Medicines are used in potentized form. All these medicines are free of side effects. Remedies are prescribed purely on the homoeopathic laws proved by the master of Homoeopathy “Heinemann the great”. While prescribing constitution, temperament and behaviors of patient are kept in mind and diagnoses are made on the basis of individual personality of the patient.

When Homeopathy was discovered?

Homeopathy was discovered by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the year 1810.
